Ending the year on a high note, a Purina® Pro Plan®-powered Labrador Retriever won the National Retriever Club (NRC) National Open Championship. Meanwhile, two English Springer Spaniels swept the top two placements at the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association (ESSFTA) National Open Championship.

Under handler Alan Pleasant of Black River Retrievers, FC-AFC Robber’s Stray Bullet won the 2014 NRC National Open Championship. The 7-year-old male Labrador Retriever called “Bullet” also was the 2014 Purina High Point Open Dog and 2014 AKC High Point Open Dog. Bred by Dan Hurst and owned by Kippy Swingle, Bullet is fueled by Purina® Pro Plan® SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.

ESSFTA National Open Championship

Zenda, KS

Two English Springer Spaniels captured first and second place at this year’s ESSFTA National Open Championship. Both dogs, fueled by Purina® Pro Plan® SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula, were handled by Jim Keller, who won the ESSFTA’s Hogan Award for the High Point Open Handler in 2014.

Outperforming 140 Springers, NFC-FC Hearthrock's All In won the ESSFTA National Open. “Scratch,” a 3-year-old male, was bred by Dick Krueger and is owned by Sean Eastman.

Capturing second place was NAFC-FC-CANFC-AFC-CFC-CAFC Flushing Wings Annie. “Annie” also was the High Point Open Dog in 2014. Bred by Jim Bell, the 7-year-old female is owned by Fred Musone.
