2016-2017 Purina Top Shooting Dog Amateur Award

A white-and-orange Pointer rightfully named “Duke” reigns supreme as the winner of the 14th annual Purina Top Shooting Dog Amateur Award. Sugarknoll War Paint, who previously won the 2015-2016 Purina Top Shooting Dog Amateur and 2014-2015 Purina Top Shooting Dog Awards, garnered 1,810 points from six points-earning placements, including four wins, in shooting dog stakes, outperforming 50 dogs to capture the Award. “Duke is 100 percent business in the field and truly enjoys his work. His heart, desire, class, and style put him above and beyond his competitors,” says Brian Sanchez of Central Islip, New York, who handled Duke to his back-to-back wins. Bred by Joan LaBree of Smithville, Georgia, the 8-year-old male is co-owned by Allen Linder of Livingston, Tennessee, with Peter and Christine Del Collo of Pamplin, Virginia. He is fed Purina Pro Plan SPORT Performance 30/20 Formula.
