As the Conformation Program Coordinator for the Purina Professional Engagement Team, Marilaé Perkins travels to some of the most prestigious dog shows in the country. These include the Westminster Kennel Club, Kennel Club of Philadelphia, and International Kennel Club of Chicago dog shows. Marilaé started working for Purina in 1994 in the Premiums Purchasing Department, switching to her current job in 1997.
Although Marilaé does not own a dog now, she has fond memories of growing up with dogs. In middle school, she trained her pet mixed-breed dog for relay races, gradually improving their race timing. “This was long before running with your dog became a sport,” she says. Years later, her family adopted a Cocker Spaniel whose military owner could not take the dog overseas. “She was a lovely dog that lived to be 12 years old,” says Marilaé.
“Purina is a wonderful place to work,” Marilaé says. “The value of quality, high-standard nutrition is reflected in all Purina pet foods. Most importantly, Purina truly cares about all pets and their owners.”
